Board of Commissioners

The Board of Commissioners consists of five individuals who are elected to represent the best interests of the community. The charge of the Board is to set policies that guide the Bedford Park District. Board members serve a six-year term and receive no compensation for the time they give. They come from a variety of backgrounds but share one common goal; serving the park and recreation needs of the community.

The Board of Commissioners meets the last Wednesday of each month in the Executive Board Room at 6:30pm. Unless otherwise noted, meetings are open to the public.


At the January 18, 2023 Board Meeting, the Bedford Park District Board of Commissioners determined the following dates for monthly Board Meetings for Fiscal Year 2023.

· April 26th (THIS MEETING HAS BEEN CANCELLED)
· May 31st (THE NORMAL MEETING HAS BEEN MOVED TO MONDAY, MAY 15 AND A SPECIAL MEETING HAS BEEN ADDED FOR THIS DATE)

· July 26th (THIS MEETING HAS BEEN CANCELLED)

· September 27th
· October 25th
· November 29th
· December 27th

Members of the public are welcome to attend. Anyone wishing to address the Board must contact the Administration Office three (3) business days prior to the meeting to have their name and topic added to the agenda, per the Illinois Open Meetings Act.

2021-Present Sean grew up in Bedford Park and raised his family here as well. He recently retired from the Bedford Park Fire Department. His goals for being on the park district board are to increase the financial stability of the park district and maintain the high quality of the recreational programs.

Mayra Munoz -

2021-Present Mayra was born and raised in Summit, where she attended districts 104 and 217. She moved into Bedford Park 17 years ago with her husband to start their family and raise their two daughters. Mayra decided to run for park commissioner because she wanted to make a difference in the community. She is passionate about building a community where everyone feels welcome and safe.

Prior to being elected to the Board of Commissioners, Emily worked for the Bedford Park District for 30 years. She is the mother of four children who were active in park programs and grandmother to six.
