Board of Commissioners

The Board of Commissioners consists of five individuals who are elected to represent the best interests of the community. The charge of the Board is to set policies that guide the Bedford Park District. Board members serve a six-year term and receive no compensation for the time they give. They come from a variety of backgrounds but share one common goal; serving the park and recreation needs of the community.

The Board of Commissioners meets the last Wednesday of each month in the Executive Board Room at 6:30pm. Unless otherwise noted, meetings are open to the public.

At the January 18, 2023 Board Meeting, the Bedford Park District Board of Commissioners determined the following dates for monthly Board Meetings for Fiscal Year 2023.

Members of the public are welcome to attend. Anyone wishing to address the Board must contact the Administration Office three (3) business days prior to the meeting to have their name and topic added to the agenda, per the Illinois Open Meetings Act.

Sean Maloy - 
2021-Present Sean grew up in Bedford Park and raised his family here as well. He recently retired from the Bedford Park Fire Department. His goals for being on the park district board are to increase the financial stability of the park district and maintain the high quality of the recreational programs.

Mayra Munoz - Secretary 2021-Present Mayra was born and raised in Summit, where she attended districts 104 and 217. She moved into Bedford Park 17 years ago with her husband to start their family and raise their two daughters. Mayra decided to run for park commissioner because she wanted to make a difference in the community. She is passionate about building a community where everyone feels welcome and safe.
Joffrey Bywater - Commissioner 2023-Present Joffrey and his daughters have enjoyed all the wonderful things the Bedford Park District has to offer for many years. Joffrey has over fifteen years of educational experience as a teacher and principal. His experience and leadership will be a great asset to the park district board. More importantly, he has a vested interest in the future of the park district—not just for his daughters but all the families and kids of Bedford Park and Bridgeview Gardens. 
Emily Croucher - Commissioner 2009-Present

Prior to being elected to the Board of Commissioners, Emily worked for the Bedford Park District for 30 years. She is the mother of four children who were active in park programs and grandmother to six.
